Since its introduction, the Olympus CYF-V2/VA2 flexible video cystoscopes have
provided physicians with an exciting new imaging potential by surpassing
traditional fiberscopes in image quality and functional simplicity through a
distally mounted CCD video chip, which eliminates the problems inherent in
flexible fiber-optic scopes such as image fiber fragility, moiré effect,
pixelation, and long-term degradation of picture quality. This is in
addition to the exclusive four stages of flexibility that permits the scope to
easily conform to the anatomy.
