Olympus continues to develop innovative solutions for surgical endoscopy with the introduction of the world’s first 5-mm deflectable tip thoracic videoscope – the LTF-VP.  This thoracic videoscope represents a significant breakthrough in thoracic imaging by leveraging the distally mounted CCD and combining it with an advanced flexible tip design, which provides a complete 100° field of view within the pleural cavity.   This feature may help minimize patient discomfort and may help reduce scope damage, which may result from unnecessary pressure on the rib cage created by leveraging the position of a standard rigid scope.
